Our sommelier recommends : Surrounding the Château, 5 hectares of vines are used by the wine producing group "Châteaux et Terroirs". Under the appellation "Clos d'Isenbourg", different grape varieties are collected to produce top quality wines which are served in the Chateau's restaurant. A legacy of the Roman Empire, the Isenbourg vineyard has prospered since Merovingian times, thanks to the donation of the chateau to the clergy. When Isenboug was annexed to the town's fortification system the stone walls were built. Today they play an important role in the growing of vines: they store the sun's heat then release it overnight providing excellent heat regulation.
